The Great Wall is a symbol of ancient Chinese civilization and a world-renowned fortification. Stretching 8,850 kilometres (5,500 miles) on the mountains in Northern China. The Great Wall was first built in the 7th century B.C., and completed during the reign of the first Emperor of Qin was extended during the Ming Dynasty. It was built to protect the northern borders of the Chinese Empire against intrusions by various nomadic groups. The most famous section of the Great Wall is at Badaling in Yanqing County in the northwestern suburbs of Beijing city in addition, the JInshanling, Mutianyu, and Simatai Sections of the Great Wall are also well-preserved and visit worthy. The rest of the wall structures are unsafe for visitors due to the years of decade.

Badaling is the first section of the Great Wall that opened to the public.First constructed in the 18th year of the
Hongzhi reign period of the Ming Dynasty in 1505, it was renovated later in Jiajing and Wanli reign of the same Dynasty. With its strategic position, Badaling Section took tremendous labour and materials. The wall of Badaling is tall and solid built by square rocks, and the beacon towers stand one by one. It was a vital protective screen of Beijing city and the important military pass of Ming Dynasty in ancient times. Winding along the ridge of the mountain, Badaling Section of the Great Wall is vividly dragon like.

The Great Wall is definitely one of the symbols of China and also one of the greatest wonder of the world was listed as a World Heritage by UNESCO. Visiting the Great Wall, there are lots of walking and climbing involve and make sure you are prepared with a good pair of walking shoes and bring plenty of water with you. Anyone have walking difficulties and any health issues, please avoid to climb the walls!
